Pop-Up Rally: Radio Controlled Racing Program

Pop-Up Rally is a hands-on enrichment program designed to teach participants technical and life skills through engaging activities centered around radio-controlled (R/C) vehicles and model buildng. The program combines workshop-based learning with outdoor racing challenges, fostering creativity, collaboration, and confidence.

 

Key Features:

Workshop Learning

Participants assemble, modify, and construct model vehicles and racecourse obstacles.
Basic construction, advanced assembly and mechanical skills are taught through an apprenticeship approach, accommodating all skill levels and learning styles.  Participants use a variety of materials and tools to complete their projects.

 

Interactive Racecourse

A rally-inspired racecourse featuring digital timing equipment, obstacles, and markers.
Participants drive R/C vehicles through the course, enhancing their skills while striving to improve performance.
The portable course can be set up in various locations, including schoolyards, parks, or parking lots.

 

Public Events

The program culminates in a public Pop-Up Rally event where participants demonstrate their skills.
Students partner with community members and businesses, hosting races and assisting with vehicle navigation and repairs. These events provide opportunities for networking, fostering relationships between participants, businesses, and the community.

 

Skill Development

Participants gain trade-related skills, including mechanics, construction, and teamwork.
The program emphasizes soft skills like risk-taking, curiosity, and confidence, essential for both workplace success and personal growth.

 

Overall Goal
